The Last Olympian written by Rick Riordan

What I found out by reading the lost hero before completing the Percy Jackson series was I had to read the complete series before starting to read the new series the Heroes of Olympus.

All year the half-bloods have been preparing for battle against the Titans, knowing the odds of victory are grim. Kronos’s army is stronger than ever, and with every god and half-blood he recruits, the evil Titan’s power only grows.

While the Olympians struggle to contain the rampaging monster Typhon, Kronos begins his advance on New York City, where Mount Olympus stands virtually unguarded. Now it’s up to Percy Jackson and an army of young demigods to stop the Lord of Time. The long-awaited prophecy surrounding Percy’s sixteenth birthday unfolds. And as the battle for Western civilization rages on the streets of Manhattan, Percy faces a terrifying suspicion that he may be fighting against his own fate.

Now for me to pick up the next book in the Heroes of Olympus, Neptune's Son, which I think is the name of the new book due out in the Fall.

The Titan's Curse written by Rick Riordan

This is book 3 in the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series. In this book Percy, Annabeth and Thalia are off to help Grover meet other demigods and bring them to Camp Half Blood. Right away they find Nico and Bianca but a monster is in their way. Percy, Thalia and Grove return to camp with the Hunters after a skirmish.

They have a quest that takes them from camp to San Fransisco along the way they meet other gods and goddesses. Some are helpful others want to stop them from rescuing Annabeth and ending the prophecy of the Titan's curse.

The Red Pyramid written by Rick Riordan

As a librarian I have been trying to keep up with my middle school students. Reading books I know they like so when school begins I can book talk new books to get them reading. I have been reading the The Olympian Series. If you haven't read this series give it a try.

The Red Pyramid has a brother and sister searching to find away to bring their Dad back from a mysterious coffin that sunk into the museum floor. They are not alone, like in the Percy Jackson series the Kane Children have gods and goddesses from the Egyptian world to assist them on their travels to bring their Dad back and save North America.

I didn't really know much about the Egyptian gods and goddesses but you don't need to know because they will teach you about themselves. Lets hope there is a second book.

Its a good read, really better then good. Enjoy the book, I did.
